Establishment of the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences at Nghệ An University of Economics

The “Faculty of Fundamental Sciences,” under Nghệ An University of Economics, was established on August 1, 2023, through the merger of the Departments of Political Theory and Basic Sciences.

The Party Committee and the NAUE Leadership present flowers to congratulate the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences.    

       The Faculty of Fundamental Sciences is tasked with advising and assisting the NAUE Rector in matters related to training, scientific research, and relevant technological transfer and undertakes responsibilities in management, organization, and implementation.

• Foreign Languages Department
• Social and Natural Sciences Department
• Principles of Marxism-Leninism and Historical Materialism Department
• Ho Chi Minh’s Thought and History of the Communist Party of Vietnam Department
• Physical Education and National Defense Education Department.”

The departments within the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences

• Organizing the teaching of general knowledge and foundational subjects within the undergraduate and postgraduate training programs at Nghệ An University of Economics.
• Managing faculty and staff within the department; proposing the recruitment needs for teaching staff. Collaborating with the Training and International Cooperation Department to establish a network of high-quality guest lecturers from both domestic and international sources.
• Developing the department’s annual activity plan and implementing it in accordance with the university’s general plan. Overseeing matters related to rewards and disciplinary actions within the department.
• Compiling curriculum, course materials, and teaching resources. Organizing research to innovate teaching and learning methods, assessment techniques; aligning teaching methods and assessment with the training program and the university’s developmental direction.
• Organizing scientific and technological activities; proactively engaging in international cooperative projects; collaborating with scientific and technological organizations, production and business entities, connecting education with scientific research, production, business, and societal life.
• Creating plans and executing the work of political, ideological, moral, and lifestyle education for faculty members; organizing training and professional development to enhance the competence of faculty members within the department.
• Implementing the quality assurance process for training as guided by the university.
• Selecting faculty members to participate in the admissions process; organizing tasks related to admissions as assigned.
• Managing and effectively using the physical facilities and technical equipment within the department’s scope.
• Advising and coordinating with other units to successfully fulfill professional tasks as approved by the University President.
• Collaborating with units within the university to build a stronger and larger Nghệ An University of Economics.
